This is one of the earliest installations of Cafe Thou Art...September 1997. In it's simplest form, the cafe consists of 2 chairs, a table, the lit neon sign "cafe thou art" and refreshments...a toy dinosaur and flamingo were added to the installation componets to express the hope that one day the predator and the prey would peacefully coexist...At approximately the same time i began devoloping a portable mini-golf course loosely based on world geography to make the cafe more entertaining ...and to enjoy using mixed media in my art...Fairly recently, a rug, a household lamp, flowers, candles and additional seating were included to expand the cafe and to bring the warm and friendly setting of a home to the installation, which is most often on the streets on new york city...Now i am developing the connection of the cyber-world to the street installations through laptop and webcam.
